A quiet coworking desk by the ocean — the work-base illustration

Here is the honest problem with "work-enabled travel": you cannot actually work while you move to a new town every day. Anyone who's tried knows the laptop stays shut, the emails pile up, and the trip quietly becomes a holiday you can't afford to take.

So we stopped pretending. We split the journey in two.

Phase one: work-base

First, we settle. One town, one desk, reliable wifi, a rhythm that respects your working hours. On the Founder Tour that's four days in Mindelo — mornings for deep work, afternoons and evenings for the place. You unpack once. Your business keeps running. Being away stops meaning falling behind.

Phase two: adventure

Then we close the laptops and go. On the Founder Tour that's the crossing to Santo Antão and its trails. No wifi guilt, no half-attention — because the work already happened, on purpose, in the phase built for it.

Separate the movement from the work, and both finally become real.

Why it matters

We borrowed the two-phase idea from the best hosted expeditions out there and made it the backbone of everything we run. It's the difference between a promise you can keep and a brochure line you can't.

It also changes the group. By the time the adventure phase ends, a set of strangers has become a small, trusted community — which, if we're honest, is the thing most people actually came for.

Journeys like this start with a conversation.
